Welcome to
 Rittenhouse
     Park
 AT  WILLINGBORO
Rittenhouse Park is one of the many residential neighborhoods in the planned community of Willingboro.  The community is Levitt and Sons' first develoment of townhouses, representing the company's first domestic departure from the detached single-family home since completing Riverdale in Norfolk County, Va. in 1943.

After building out the Rittenhouse Park neighborhood with 606 units, Levitt continued this very successful model with an additional 93 units in the smaller Fairmount Park neighborhood. The new section--the final neighborhood completed in Levitt's Willingboro--was continued as Rittenhouse Park II.

RITTENHOUSE PARK II

Once the Rittenhouse Park neighborhood was fully built out in early 1970, construction and sales of townhomes in Willingboro continued in the new Fairmount Park section as Rittenhouse Park II, retaining the Rittenhouse Park houseline. The advertisements for Rittenhouse Park II directed visitors to the Garfield Park exhibit area for information. The original Rittenhouse Park sales center on Ridgeview Court was likely not retained for Rittenhouse Park II. The sample homes, though, were likely still open for inspection even though the sales and information center had been consolidated with that for Garfield Park on Rockland Drive. At the same time, Fairmount Park was also being developed with with 43 single-family homes of the Garfield Park at Twin Hills houseline, except for the Kensington model. Fairmount Park itself was not marketed as a separate community within Willingboro, but served as the closeout of Levitt and Sons' operation in Willingboro. Fairmount Park is the smallest of the Willingboro planned neighborhoods. Mixed houselines of single- and mutli-family homesites are integrated amongst and clustered around open green spaces and recreational facilities that include handball and tennis courts, walking trails, open fields and greens, and a swim club.

LEVITTOWNBEYOND ADDS...
Rittenhouse Park is Levitt's first community of townhomes. Sales were geared toward apartment dwellers--ads compared the cost of a mortgage in Rittenhouse Park with rent for an apartment with a comparable number of rooms, and pointed out the advantage of the mortgage tax deduction.
