LEVITTOWN, N.J. PROTOTYPES
AT LEVITTOWN, PA.

Prototypes for the 1958 homes were built on Terrace Road in the Twin Oaks section of Levittown, Pa.

House A
Photo 1 Traditional elevation; the brick planter at the front corner of the house was removed by the homeowner. This version is one of two that was included in the New Jersey 1958 houseline. (9/18/2004)
Photo 2 Same elevation as Photo 1, but a different house with garage was expanded by the homeowner; note that many of the original features are intact, including the arched trim above the upstairs bedroom window. (7/27/2001)
Photo 3 Contemporary elevation in near original condition; the house, trim, and shutter colors reflect the late 1950s as well.  This version is the alternate exterior for House A in the New Jersey 1958 houseline. (9/18/2004)
Photo 4 Another view of the same home in Photo 3 (9/18/2004)
Photo 5 An alternate contemporary elevation that did not make it into the final New Jersey houseline (7/27/2001)
Photo 6 Alternate contemporary and traditional elevations that did not make it into the final New Jersey houseline (7/27/2001)

House B
Photo 1 Traditional elevation in near original condition; this is one of two versions that was included in the New Jersey 1958 houseline (9/18/2004)
Photo 2 Another view of the home in Photo 1; even the scrolled trim above the garage has been preserved. (9/18/2004)
Photo 3 Front-side view of the home in Photos 1-2 (9/18/2004)

House C
Photo 1 Traditional elevation that was one of two versions included in the final New Jersey houseline; uncertain whether the window above the front door was removed by the homeowner, or added to the design when built in New Jersey.  The windows appear to be original and the brick planter has been retained. (9/18/2004)

General Views
Photo 1 View of both elevations of House A and one of House C that were included in the New Jersey 1958 houseline (7/27/2001)
Photo 2 Another view of two of the homes in Photo 1. The original aluminum lighting standard is by Pfaff and Kendall of Newark, N.J. and the street name sign for Terrace Road is original as well, likely by Lake Shore Industries; both are the same type used in Levittown, N.J. (7/27/2001)
