Garfield Park
is one of the many residential neighborhoods in the planned community of Willingboro.  Originally established as Levittown, N.J., Levitt and Sons, Inc. sought to create a more diversified community than the Levittowns were typically perceived by homebuyers.  After completing Hawthorne Park as the last of the Levittown-brand neighborhoods, Garfield Park was introduced as the first of the new communities within the established commnuity of Willingboro, renamed from Levittown.  Willingboro took advantage of all the amenities set up in the planning of Levittown, but took a different marketing approach: rather than advertising the overall commuity as a whole, the focus instead was on the individual neighborhoods as distinct entities within the larger community.  This change also opened up opportunities for marketing several neighboods simultaneously, but allowing each to promote its own unqiue character that would appeal to a broader consumer base.

LEVITTOWNBEYOND ADDS...
Garfield Park is Levitt's first community in Willingboro to not bear the Levittown brand name.

The Willingboro Country Club was developed by Levitt and Sons, Inc. in 1966 as a semi-private facility situated on the north shore of Rancocas Creek.  In 1990, the Club was taken over by National Golf Properties and managed as a public club by its subsidiary, American Golf Corp.  The course was renamed Rancocas Golf Club.  (Source: www.Philly.com)
